70s Inspired Poconos Chalet w/ Fireplace, Dogs OK!

Welcome to the Sunset Chalet - our cozy, peaceful getaway in the Pocono Mountains! We have lovingly updated this home over the past year and are so excited to share it with you. Located in an amenity-filled, private community called The Hideout, we're just a 2.5 hour drive from Philly & NYC. Surrounded by nature and outdoor activities - the perfect escape from busy city life - and just a short drive from restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and other attractions in the Poconos & Upstate NY.

Whether you plan to stay in and enjoy your company or adventure out, there is plenty to do at the Sunset Chalet. Our home comfortably sleeps 8 and has 4 nice-sized bedrooms, 2 full & 1 half baths, 2 living rooms, indoor & outdoor dining areas, and an awesome fire pit! We are surrounded by tall trees & boulders.

Upstairs you will find original 1970’s character in the warm, wood paneled walls & ceiling. Our big, cozy couch sits in front of the brand new wood burning stove. The dining room table seats 8 people comfortably. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessities, including pots, pans, dishes, glassware, mugs, oil, some seasonings, coffee & tea.

Through the three sliding doors in the upstairs living area, you can access the fully screened-in porch with rocking chairs and the deck, with an outdoor dining table + propane grill. Two bedrooms are upstairs - one queen bedroom and one king bedroom with an en-suite half bath. The first full bathroom with a shower/tub is in the hall next to the bedrooms.

Downstairs is the second living area, two bedrooms, and a full bath, all newly renovated in 2022! The living area feels like a modern take on grandma's cozy family room - complete with vintage furniture, a TV, wet bar, books, games, and a pool table. The full bathroom downstairs has a 36" wheelchair accessible doorway and roll-in shower with sunset-themed tiles. The queen bedroom downstairs has a 36" wheelchair accessible doorway and desk. The second bedroom downstairs has 2 twin beds.

The Hideout offers many amenities for our guests! There is a lake with 2 beaches, 2 outdoor pools (one is just 10 min walk from our house!), tennis & basketball courts, a 9-hole golf course, mini golf, small ski hill, walking trail (that backs up to our yard!), art center, indoor gym, and 2 restaurants. (Some amenities are open seasonally and during specific hours.)

A quick 25 minute drive gets you to the sweet towns of Honesdale & Hawley that have great dining, shops, antiquing, and activities for the whole family. We are close to grocery stores & farm markets if you want to cook at home. Claws-N-Paws Animal Park is just 10 minutes away. We provide a binder at the house with recommendations.

Guests will have access to the entire house, except some locked storage closets. Items provided in the home (including games, appliances etc.) are subject to change without notice.

****Please Note: This home is located in a secured, gated, private community. The community is safe & very family friendly and has rules that all guests are expected to follow. While it is peaceful and surrounded by nature, our neighbors' homes are close by (as seen in the photos). This is not the home to book if you plan to have many people coming and going during your stay. No parties or events allowed. Minimum booking age is 25.

You will need to fill out a rental application that will be sent to you by our property manager. This will need to be completed and signed, (to include the names, ages, addresses and relationships to you for all of your guests) for entrance into the community. This will need to be completed within 72 hours of your arrival or the community will assess a $100 late fee that you will be responsible for. You may not exceed 8 guests and there are no more than 4 cars allowed in the driveway. No other guests can visit the lot while you are there.****
